We are a small family run business, who have been serving the communities in Knowle and Whitchurch for over 25 years
We put the children and families at the heart of everything we do; working closely with parents to ensure their children receive the best pre-school experience
Our consistent staff teams include qualified teachers (PGCE) and early years teachers (EYTS) and all staff are qualified to Level 3 or above. We never use bank staff.
Our staff ratios are usually one adult to every six children; despite the legal requirement being one adult to thirteen children for our qualified teachers – we believe children learn best when there is ample adult attention to support their play and development.
Our learning environments are tailored to the needs of the children, and planned for by qualified teachers. They are crafted to awaken the children’s curiosity and exploration skills, teaching them how to think, not what to think. We have dedicated times each day for children to lead their own learning, small group times with adults and time to sing songs and listen to stories as a whole group.
We use a mixture of high quality toys, natural resources, real life objects and open ended materials to support our children’s learning and development. Lots of the resources are accessible to the children so they can choose what to play with. We also provide lots of the same resources as they will use in school (such as Numicon, compare bears etc.) so the children are familiar with them before they move on to Reception.
Each setting has a dedicated outdoor space which is used daily, with bikes, trikes, scooters, climbing apparatus, sports equipment, and gardening equipment amongst other things
We believe that children should be part of their local community and as such we use many local facilities with the children, as well as making use of facilities further afield such as forest school sites, Warleigh Lodge Farm, and Redcatch Community Garden. We also invite community members into preschool.
We provide healthy snacks for the children and encourage children to try a range of healthy food stuffs as well as foods from our culture and other cultures to help us celebrate special events
All of our settings are rated as either Good or Outstanding by Ofsted
